Flying home from Kittila 25/01/26

To complete the holiday to Finland this January 2026 #kittila #finland

Sunday 25th i arrived at the airport after a wonderful holiday, it was snowing a bit, but things seemed to be moving along with the flights coming in, we wait for our flight from Manchester with the new arrivals, it was about 20 mins late[not sure why]

We fly back from Kittila, a stunning little airport

Kittilä and it's surrounding areas offer visitors unparalleled nature, changing seasons and a wide range of activities. Some of the most famous ski and holiday resorts in Finland are located right by Kittilä Airport: Levi just 15 kilometres away and Ylläs around 35 kilometres. In addition to Kittilä, the airport also serves Olos, Pyhä-Luosto, Kolari and Muonio, as well as Sodankylä and Enontekiö. An hour away you'll find the Pallastunturi fells and the purest air quality in the world.

I have to give all the people at the airport my grateful thanks for getting everyone in and out safely under what must be some very trying weather conditions sometimes.

The planes are carefully checked over and our plane was de-iced twice, in the end we left about an hour and a half late, this can be frustrating as we were already on board but in the end i would rather get home safely
