After an almost usual work week, with the exception of a happening to break part of a tooth which led to an unwelcome trip to the dentist, defiantly not a favourite place, although my dentist is really wonderful and very good, luckily!!
It was over to Kidderminster on Saturday, our usual early start as my husband had some DIY issues to help with at a house, leaving me some free time for a favourite pastime, a bit of a wonder with the camera's
Set off, weather was a bit grey with the odd spot of rain, but should clear through, fingers crossed
Walked down to the Severn Valley Railway station, a great venue for some photos, catch a glimpse of the wonderful trains if i am lucky
Then a stop in the museum which has on display an extensive collection of smaller historical railway items ,has a small buffet, and also sells new and second-hand books, so a good stop for a coffee, it also has what looks like a very comfortable local.
Suitably refreshed now, so back on with the walk and i wanted to visit a church i have seen from the car many times and now was maybe a good opportunity for a visit on foot. A few streets over, so headed off, the weather was getting more pleasant and a nice temperature for walking.
St George’s is a Grade II* listed, “Waterloo” church built after the battle and consecrated in 1824. It was rebuilt after a fire gutted it in 1922. It is a stunning building, well worth a stop off.
