Weather forecast had this day as one were it was not going to rain and be sunny!!! about time, were my thoughts.
So on a Saturday morning, pretty early, we were up and about, had to de-ice the car, then set off to Lake Vyrnwy, in Wales for an overdue visit. Around a two hour drive, traffic was light, but some of the smaller roads were a bit of a tip toe, as there was still slush and ice hanging about.
Set against the slopes of the Berwyn Mountains and fringed with trees, Lake Vyrnwy may look like a triumph of nature, but it’s actually a man-made reservoir.
Arrived about nine, drove to our favourite spot for our breakfast, it was quite cold, benches were all icy, so standing up enjoying my flask of hot home made soup was the order of the day. The sky was blue, not much of a breeze and as usual a wonderful view to feast the eyes on
Then a few snap shots taken, and a couple of cheeky visitors, before packing up to go on to the main feature for the morning, a walk up to the waterfall
