Mega video Dancing Aurora part 3 23.01.26

A lot of random things led me to the forest above Akaslompolo for a specific time on a specific day.

Firstly a big thank you to Seven Fell Up, for putting up with me as i couldn't make my mind up what day i wanted to do the Northern Lights Snow shoe walk, couldn't have chosen that one better!!

Secondly, our ride was a tiny bit later than it would have been as they couldn't find our cabin.

Thirdly, unbeknown to us, sitting in the warm and waiting, there was some Aurora activity going on above our cabin, so when we came out, everyone did photos...in case...it was our only sighting that night, so so wrong on that one lol.

Fourthly, we arrived at our car park starting point, to see a big group already for their walk up, so no rush, we let them get off.

Fifth, we had a leisurely walk, looking for any signs, our guide was unsure there would be much when he consulted his app.

Sixth, when we arrived at the Kota, it was full of the previous group, warming themselves up, we had a choice now, make a fire outside or continue up in the hills for a while, we all chose to continue!!

Seventh, arriving back at the Kota, the others had finished and were all gearing up to leave, leaving us the place to ourselves.

Eighth, as there was no rush we enjoyed our grilled sausages, hot juice and cakes and had a right old natter together. strange now thinking about it, none of us were keeping an eye out to see if anything was happening outside???

Ninth, when we did decide to go, there did seem to be a bit of activity, nothing much, our guide, Briac, set his camera up, moved about but nothing, we waited while that was packed up.

Tenth, my husband could not get his snow shoes on properly. It was only minutes but when he had, he noticed the sky changing.

All of those moments led to an amazing show, the Aurora was everywhere, like a switch had just been turned on!!

I don't think our guide Briac, had seen anything like this either and he had taken many tours, the motion was so fast, we were in awe, everyone trying to capture something and not knowing which way to look. This is his video, quite long but only a fraction of what we saw, the view through our eyes was even better.

Thank you to him, and Seven Fells Up, our tour went on so much longer than we had booked.

So for all of that and probably more, to be there at about 11pm at -24 on a Friday Night in the forests above Akaslompolo, Finland. AMAZING!!!!!! No time lapse etc, videoed just as it happened

Hope you enjoy this...Thank you Briac-had to upload in two parts
